Spot samples of stream water in Blind Beck (NY 753131), stream water in Low Hall stream (NY 753130) and rainwater at a bulk collector in Blind Beck (NY 753131) were collected at approximately fortnightly intervals and analysed for major ions and trace metals. Additional samples (one-off) were collected from boreholes at Crosby Garrett and Sykeside, upstream tributaries of Blind Beck and a spring near Little Musgrave. A three day period of automatic sampling at 3 hourly intervals was undertaken in Blind Beck during a period of low flow, to look at the diurnal variations in water chemistry.
